Job description
Quality Assurance Engineer
At favorited, we believe that digital communities should be more than just spaces to watch content. Our platform is a place to connect, engage, and play, and empowers creators by enhancing audience participation, fostering deeper connections, and ensuring that creators are compensated fairly for their work.
Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you are a self starter who wants to build the future of social interaction alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.
The Problems You’ll Solve
As a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer at Favorited, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the reliability and quality of our app. Working closely with development and product teams, you’ll help identify, investigate, and resolve issues to deliver a seamless user experience.
QA at Favorited goes beyond just finding bugs—it’s about owning the quality of the entire experience, from first use to support to partnerships. Even if all bugs were fixed tomorrow, QA would remain essential to maintaining a world-class product.
Your Responsibilities
Quality Assurance & Testing
Triage and investigate issues reported by support or users, providing maximum context to developers via tools like Linear.
Actively use the app daily to detect regressions, assess usability, and develop a strong mental model of all app flows.
Debug under pressure—many issues arise while users are live, so rapid diagnosis is critical.
Investigate GCP/Sentry logs and Discord conversations to uncover user-reported or hidden issues.
Unit & Integration Tests
Design and maintain manual and automated testing scenarios that prevent regressions and validate new features.
Ensure quality is not limited to code correctness but extends to user experience, support touch points, and external integrations.
Participate in the QA workflow from issue detection to review post-deployment.
Use AI to help you write comprehensive tests.
Write clear, concise documentation on how features should behave and how they are tested.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Work closely with support, product, design, and backend engineering to ensure issues are triaged, investigated, and resolved with high context.
Communicate clearly and relentlessly—especially when issues arise—to ensure the team has full situational awareness.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for detail, takes pride in building top-tier mobile applications, and demonstrates extreme ownership over their work. They communicate clearly and quickly—especially when problems arise—and provide the context needed for the team to act. When issues slip through, they show resilience, learning from mistakes to improve the product and process.
When applying, please include links to your GitHub profile, any apps you've worked on in the App Store, and describe your specific contributions.
Minimum Requirements:
