The Problems You’ll Solve
We are looking for a data scientist to join our trust and safety team at favorited. You will be a leader who can manage projects, mentor team members, and create visually compelling dashboards to communicate key findings.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with a team of experts to proactively identify potential threats and build scalable protections to address them.
Analyze behaviors and tactics of threat actors, collect high-confidence signals, and work with engineers to enhance detection models and create data-driven mitigation strategies.
Design and test predictive models to identify abusive behaviors and improve feature integrity.
Build and maintain dashboards to visualize analytics and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
Strengthen investigation and intelligence-gathering processes by improving standard operating procedures.
Partner with the fraud team to analyze data patterns related to fraudulent activities, develop detection models, and create mitigation strategies to safeguard user transactions and platform integrity.
Work cross-functionally with product, operations, policy, and communications teams to identify gaps in threat detection and mitigation processes.
Mentor and support data scientists and analysts to execute the team roadmap and achieve goals.
What We’re Looking For
As a data scientist, you are an insightful analyst with a talent for identifying harmful patterns and turning data into actionable insights. Ideally you are, a team player who can collaborate with diverse stakeholders to create effective and scalable solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
Expertise in at least one of the following areas: integrity and authenticity, violent behaviors, or dangerous actors.
At least 3 years of experience in threat discovery and prevention
Advanced skills in statistical analysis, SQL, and programming languages such as Python or R.
Experience building dashboards and visualizing data through tools like Mode, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, including model design and testing; familiarity with deep learning or recommendation systems is a plus.
A proven track record of identifying malicious behaviors and creatively developing solutions to mitigate threats.
Experience leading projects, mentoring staff, and managing stakeholder relationships.
Strong project management skills to ensure impactful outcomes and align with team priorities.
Resilience and commitment to self-care to manage the challenges of working with sensitive content.
